Amidst the deepest of sorrows and darkest thoughts, there is one part of yourself that keeps reminding you to switch on the light. Have you ever noticed?

Well you might have not because all we want is to be consumed by the darkness. All we want is that we feel sad, depressed so that we sympathize with ourselves. And most times, believe me, you would not even know that you are doing this to yourself, it’s just a flow of dark feelings which is unstoppable.

But is this what we want from life? It is said that negativity attracts negativity. When you are feeling low, you would be more attracted to sad news, dark content so that it makes you feel that everything around is actually sad! What we miss out is thinking clearly. Our mind is not functioned to handle a lot of emotions, because that’s not its function! In these phases, what overpowers is your heart. The heart captures all emotions throughout your body and rules over you. Now remember, just as the brain is not adept to feeling, the heart is not adept to thinking. And this is what happens when the heart thinks.

We as humans are born with the power to control our mind, our heart and our systems. But sometimes we get so defeated that we forget our strengths, our powers.

Like these times of Covid. With the increase in cases, our heart beat increases. And more power to heart captures us with the negative feelings. It will make you feel worse in your worst times, and make you question that is there a way out of this? Did we take a wrong decision this year? What if everything ends here? The end, that is what we fear the most. The end of the world, the end of our environment, our family and most importantly us. But what we fail to realize is that this phase also has an end.

In the darkest of phases, we would cry, crib and sulk under depression. But what if we surprise ourselves and do something different?

This time, when life gives you lemons, don’t crib or ask for mangoes, take those lemons and make a beautiful lemonade. That is what life is made of – beauty. And believe me, beauty lies within us. Deep within us, we just need to find it. Let us bring in all the positivity we contain within ourselves, can acquire from around us and can give out. Let us make the best of decisions in these worst times, challenge ourselves to fight better and grow further. Plan the most desired things for our future and live the present to the fullest.

When you make the best out of waste, yes that’s when you would be appreciated. While you do comfort yourself, care for yourself, love yourself but don’t in disdain. Be the light you want to see, the hope and faith that you wish to have and this time let your mind support your heart.
